Music Mondays

Welcome to Music Mondays’ 2013 Season

In my first full season at the helm of Music Mondays I’m excited to build on the work of my two predecessors and offer a dynamic and eclectic program of classical, jazz and world music – everything from the captivating young organist, Mélanie Barney (our season opener), to the magical mallets of percussionist Noam Bierstone, to Autorickshaw’s blend of traditional Indian music with the beats and funk of the 21st century.

Our series has served as a launching pad for the best of Toronto’s emerging talent since its inception in 1992, and this year is no different: Don’t miss the exciting young pianists Younggun Kim and Lisa Tahara, and, back by popular demand, the 14-year old sensation, Anatasia Rizikov. Music Mondays also looks to enhance the Toronto scene with artists from outside of Canada. We’re proud to present the Toronto debut of one of France’s leading youth ensembles,The Ile de France Children’s Choir, on July 15th. All this and so much more.

We have been privileged to receive funding in past years from sources such as the Toronto Arts Council, Toronto Community Foundation, the Bickle Foundation, as well as private sponsorships.

Our concerts take place in the warm, inviting and accessible space of Holy Trinity Church, just steps away from Bay Street’s wheels of commerce and the bustle of the Eaton Centre.  So come and enjoy the music and the ideas that go with it. Bring your lunch – and a friend – every Monday at noon from June through the end of September.

I look forward to meeting you there.
